FILM PROGRAM

index404: what marks paper?
trace.ai<3: touch.
index404: and film?
trace.ai<3: light&cha0s

The fourth edition of The ROOF presents trace.ai<3, a film program extending the concerns of Amorce – Paper, Index, Trace into moving images. From material mark-making to photographic imprint, we explore how film and code inherit the logic of the index — not simply showing reality but carrying its touch. Light and exposure remain the shared ground: from Brakhage’s sun-struck frames to livecoding’s real-time marks. In resonance with Hito Steyerl’s notion of the “poor image,” we follow traces that wander, compress, or misbehave technically.

The program gathers diverse works across media, including Lilith Grasmug’s new short Some Of You Fucked Eva (2025).

All films will be screened in English.
