till the body becomes the city, it always is* hasta que el cuerpo se convierte en la ciudad, siempre lo es*
October 01 – November 11, 2025
Curated by Zora Sicher
THIRD BORN and Market Gallery are pleased to present till the body becomes the city, it always is* hasta que el cuerpo se convierte en la ciudad, siempre lo es*, curated by Zora Sicher.
Facilitating a dialogue between artists living, departed, working, and rooted in orbits surrounding Mexico City and New York City, the exhibition explores the “archiving machine” across its many iterations— from the mechanical to the corporal. Through an intersection of varying mediums, the featured artists and city-dwellers capture and redirect the stimulations and simulations of the urban environment. The works employ an ethnographic approach to the city and its multiverses.

Market Gallery is an independent, artist-run exhibition space founded in 2024 by Adam Zhu in Chinatown, New York City. Housed in a rooftop shed accessed through Zhu’s apartment, the gallery transforms a personal living space into an intimate setting for contemporary art. Presenting exhibitions by both emerging and established artists across disciplines and mediums, Market Gallery brings together artists, ideas, and communities in a space that blurs the boundaries between private and public, personal and institutional, offering an alternative context for experiencing contemporary art.
Installation Views
“An archive appears necessarily as aggregation, accumulation, a new layer that demands another one and another one in order to make sense of itself as a body, a place: a cell that engenders another, a page begets another, a concept fulfills another, the city grows and never sleeps.” – Gaby Cepeda
